Jarley Yung is Kentuckys best blues-driven hard rock band. Specializing in a special breed of true Heavy Metal and Rock-and-Roll music, they have played to hundreds of people at countless venues across Kentucky and neighboring states. So far in their career, they have released one self-titled album which perfectly represents the intensity, sincerity, and brain melting energy these musicians will bring anywhere they go. The band features Miles James on guitar and vocals, Gentry Needham on bass and vocals, and Chris Marra on drums, bringing their unique touch to the music scene around them.

On drums, Chris Marra provides the foundational, hard-hitting, Rock-and-Roll groove behind every riff, song, and solo. Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Chris has years of experience performing live with bands of various genres, including famed indie rock band Swing Dance Club. Chris and his thunderous drums are largely responsible for Jarley Yung's foreboding reputation as the biggest and loudest band around. Inspired by bands such as Avenged Sevenfold and Led Zeppelin, nobody understands the mighty kit like this fierce warrior who puts his all into every single hit, resulting in his many broken sticks. Stage fright has no bearing on Chris Marra, as his biggest fear is a splinter in his hand or bloody knuckle from slamming the skins.
Do you feel the earth shaking? It may just be the deep intensity of Gentry Needham's 4 stringed weapon he calls a bass guitar. Wielding his 1960's Goya Panther II, his precision, rhythm, and expertise have crafted perfect basslines for nearly every song. His bass solo on Jarley Yung's catastrophic hit, 'Machine Gun', can only be enjoyed to it's fullest extent amidst the audience of a live performance where you can hear the power of each note through the shaking of the floor. Jarley Yung first began without a bass player, and despite their best efforts to imitate the power, they were never truly complete until Gentry Needham graced their ears and souls with his unforgiving explosion of bass. His involvement has truly solidyfied the worlds greatest rhythm section. And he sings.

This space cowboy has a true need for Heavy Metal Rock-and-Roll and the only cure is Jarley Yung. Miles James fronts the band with riffs derived from a deep need for new and true hard rock music. His background in the blues carries his guitar playing endeavor, keeping him founded and structured while relying on the dark tonalities and rhythms of early metal and rock pioneers. The chilling intro to 'Space Queen', the hopeful chorus of 'The Night Song', and the thumping rhythm of 'MIDAS' are all examples of the musical range of his writing. With vocals being his second instrument to guitar, he has brought a unique instrument oriented writing style to the band, barring them from the holds of choruses and relying on catchy, soul-capturing Rock-and-Roll riffs, solos, and melodies.
